Easily add Digg to your site with our WordPress plugin and Drupal module
A lot of content on Digg is from blogs and smaller publishers and we wanted to make it super-simple for these sites to add Digg functionality to their sites. Today, we're happy to announce that we've launched an 'official' WordPress plugin and Drupal module for Digg.
These extensions are based on our recently updated Digg buttons and widgets, which offer significantly improved performance over our previous solutions and a much better experience for interacting with Digg on other websites. Together, they help drive traffic to publishers' content by allowing easy Digging and submission into the Digg ecosystem.
Out of the box, these let you do the following:
- Place yellow smart Digg buttons in the three size options: compact, medium and large. The yellow smart Digg buttons can tell if a web page has been Dugg or not and displays the proper number count.
- Generate a customized Digg widget with different placement options. The widget generator can show the most Dugg content by domain, topic, search term or even show a particular user’s Dugg stories. After selecting the type of content to display, it’s easy to save that state and decide where to position it on a page.
You can find details for installing these add-ons on the WordPress and Drupal sites. Also, as we continue to enhance our publisher solutions, we'll be updating these tools to include Digg's latest features. As always, we'd love to hear your feedback.
