Now Playing: Newsroom Content on Top News
Earlier this week, we began rolling out changes to Top News to better connect Newsrooms to the 144 headlines that make Top News each day.
So what does this mean for Digg?
- How content performs in Newsrooms and Newswire is now a major influence on Top News.
- This is the biggest change we've made to our Top News algorithm in over a year.
- We are taking the next step in integrating the most popular news across the web, as measured by Likes, Tweets, LinkedIn shares and Diggs.
What does this mean for you?
- You can find breaking news on Top News. What used to take several hours to be promoted to Top News can now take less than 10 minutes based on the speed of Diggs, Likes and Tweets.
- You will likely see Top News from a more diverse set of publications.
- Your reputation against a particular news topic, as determined by your score on Digg Newsrooms, will influence what makes Top News.
When we launched Newsrooms in early October, it was the start of a road to broaden the way content is discovered and promoted on Digg. This week’s changes to Top News are the next step in helping our 17 million monthly readers discover better content on a wider variety of topics.
Thanks for taking the trip with us and look forward to your feedback.
