Ten Stories You'll Be Sorry You Missed this Year
2012 is upon us! But before you wake up from that glorious champagne-powered hangover, lets not forget the oddities of 2011, brought to you exclusively by the Digg community. Below is our 2011 Top Ten List of stories you’ll be sorry to have missed.
When we took a look back at the news in 2011 with the most Diggs, Views, Likes and Tweets there are some stories that are emblazoned in our minds - the demise of Osama bin Laden, the death of Steve Jobs, stunning satellite photos of the Japanese tsunami.
Those are huge, but you’ve seen these covered enough times throughout the year. But there are other headlines that could have happened on any day, or for that matter, any year; the hypocrisy of the American Justice system, religious zealotry, suspicion of extraterrestrial life forms.
These are subjects that have kept people curious long before the Internet was ever invented. They challenge who we are and what we revere. And sometimes, they just make us laugh.
Thanks for reading and see you next year.
